Deadline: Roadside Attractions Takes ‘The Last Full Measure’ Starring Sebastian Stan

Deadline.com — Roadside Attractions is planning a wide 2019 theatrical release for Todd Robinson’s The Last Full Measure. The distributor has acquired U.S. rights on the Vietnam drama that stars Avengers: Infinity War‘s Sebastian Stan along with Christopher Plummer, William Hurt, Samuel L. Jackson, Ed Harris, Peter Fonda, Diane Ladd, Amy Madigan, Jeremy Irvine and Bradley Whitford.

The film recounts an untold story about the heroism of American soldiers in Vietnam. Irvine plays William Pitsenbarger, an Air Force medic who saved over 60 men in one of the harshest battles of the Vietnam War. Offered the chance to escape on the last helicopter out of the combat zone, Pitsenbarger stayed behind to save and defend the lives of his fellow soldiers. Twenty years later, his comrade in arms (Hurt) and father (Plummer) seek the help of investigator Scott Huffman (Stan) and other surviving veterans of the battle to finally procure him The Congressional Medal of Honor he deserved.

“Todd Robinson’s riveting drama chronicles one man’s sacrifice and valor on the battlefield, and we believe it also highlights an aspect of American patriotism overdue for recognition. Everyone should know about William Pitsenbarger’s bravery and life, and it’s a privilege to bring this film to theaters where it should be seen,” said Roadside’s Howard Cohen and Eric d’Arbeloff.

Robinson also wrote the script. Timothy Scott Bogart, Mark Damon, Nicholas Cafritz, Robert Reed Peterson, Shaun Sanghani, Michael Bassick, Adi Cohen and Lauren Selig are producers. Sebastian Stan & Denise Gough To Star In ‘Monday’ From ‘Before Midnight’, ‘The Iron Lady’ & ‘Loving’ Producers

Deadline.com — Captain America star Sebastian Stan and Colette actress Denise Gough are set to star in classy-looking feature Monday.

Produced by Christos V.Konstantakopoulos (Before Midnight) Damian Jones (The Iron Lady) and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones (Loving), Fred Berger (La La Land) will executive produce.

Faliro House and its partners will finance the project. Protagonist Pictures is handling international sales. Production is set for Greece this summer with Argyris Papadimitropoulos (Suntan) directing the script he co-wrote with Rob Hayes.

Pic focuses on two self-destructive Americans, living across Athens and the Greek islands who plunge into a tsunami of a romance.

Papadimitropoulos told us, “Many people don’t feel like getting involved in intense relationships anymore. And that to me is so sad. Chloe and Mickey’s story is a very honest look at one relationship, and in it there are elements everyone will recognize from their own experiences. I simply cannot wait to put the amazingly talented Denise and Sebastian in front of the lens and shoot them in stunning settings, places I know like the back of my hand, and work with a team of producers who have made some of my favorite films.”

Papadimitropoulos’s most recent feature Suntan premiered at Rotterdam Film Festival and SXSW’s Narrative Spotlight before winning best film at the Edinburgh Film Festival.

Hayes is known for his success as a screenwriter and playwright, with his most recent hit This Will End Badly performed in London and receiving critical acclaim.

Stan will next be seen starring opposite Nicole Kidman in Annapurna’s The Destroyer. His credits include Avengers: Infinity War, Captain America: Civil War and I, Tonya with Margot Robbie. Gough is a two-time winner of the Laurence Olivier Award for her roles in stage plays People Places And Things, and Angels In America, that latter for which she was also nominated for a Tony.

Sebastian Stan Lands Lead in Leonardo DiCaprio Produced ‘Beat The Reaper’

Tracking-Board.com — After years in development on both the big and small screens, a feature adaptation of Josh Bazell’s debut novel BEAT THE REAPER is finally coming together, as Sebastian Stan has signed on to star, while Gore Verbinski has signed on to direct, the Tracking Board has exclusively learned.

The project hails from New Regency and Appian Way, so Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson will produce alongside Julie Yorn of LBI Entertainment. The script was written by Billions creators Brian Koppelman and David Levien, who are also expected to serve as executive producers.

Beat the Reaper follows a young ER doctor whose life is upended when a patient recognizes him from his past life as a mafia hitman. He’s forced to fight to stay alive as old enemies come out of the woodwork to destroy him.

New Regency originally acquired the rights to the book when it was published in January 2009, and developed the feature film project as a starring vehicle for Leonardo DiCaprio. The project moved to HBO in December 2011, but not much has been heard about it since.

Stan is coming off the best performance of his career in I, Tonya, and he’ll soon be seen reprising his role as Bucky in Avengers: Infinity War and its 2019 sequel. Additionally, Stan will be seen alongside Nicole Kidman in Karyn Kusama’s crime thriller Destroyer, and he stars opposite Alexandra Daddario in We Have Always Lived in the Castle. He’s represented by ICM Partners, Brookside Artist Management and attorney Jason Sloane.

SlashFilm: Sebastian Stan & Anthony Mackie Talk ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and Reacting to a Talking Raccoon (On Set Interview)

SlashFilm.com — And now, here is our final interview from the set of Avengers: Infinity War. Today, we bring you our roundtable conversation with Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes, AKA Winter Solider) and Anthony Mackie (Sam Wilson, AKA Falcon).

In typical Marvel fashion, the actors were told to reveal nothing to us. This is sometimes frustrating for a journalist on set just trying to figure out what exactly he is watching, but in this case, it’s extremely entertaining. You may not learn much from this interview with Mackie and Stan, but I promise that you will enjoy their antics.

***

Anthony Mackie: Hello, everyone. Welcome to Avengers 3. My name is Anthony Mackie. This is Sebastian Stan. If you have any questions, direct towards us. We will answer them in a timely fashion. Do not ask anything about the movie because we will not answer. This will go extremely well and you will enjoy.

What’d you think about Wonder Woman?

Sebastian Stan: I haven’t seen it.

Mackie: Loved it. It’s great. Ladies, great job all of you. Great job. I’m very proud of you.

We noticed Bucky isn’t frozen. You’re walking around here.

Stan: This is where he’s not frozen. That’s good for someone.

What’s he doing in Wakanda?

Stan: The same thing he was doing in Wakanda the last time you saw him in Wakanda.

Mackie: Hanging out. Eating Wakandanese food.

Stan: Dreaming in his little spacecraft. Well, that’s the last time you saw him, right? So, he’s here taking in the scenery, I guess. And the scenery ain’t great?

Will he be in Black Panther? Because that’ll have come out by the time we run this.

Mackie: We’ve already told you, we can’t say. I congratulated your people and everything. You’re messing it up.

In between Civil War and Infinity War, has Falcon been with Cap and Widow?

Mackie: No. We all kind of went on our separate ways after Civil War. We all kind of went on our separate ways and we were in hiding because of everything that happened in Civil War. So now, we get the call to rally, and here we are: Avengers 3.

What are you rallying for?

Mackie: Freedom. Truth. Social liberties and peace with all men and women.

Stan: And Mel Gibson.

So the villain in this one is Thanos. What can you tell us about Thanos? What does Winter Solider think about him? What does Falcon think about him?

Stan: Winter Soldier is just enjoying his new arm. And that’s really where he’s at.

Mackie: It’s a nice arm. All lubed up and ready to go.

Stan: And he’s learning new information as he goes along.

Your character is a very realistic kind of guy, so what does he think when he hears about this all-powerful being who’s going to kill everyone?

Mackie: One thing about Falcon I’ve always loved since the beginning of discovering this character is his Military background, his belief that his job in life to fight for his fellow man. So when he hears about [Thanos and] his overall idea of world destruction, he’s very disheartened and shaken by it. He’s eager to get into the fight against this super evil, this diabolical demon known as Thanos. Y’all know who’s playing Thanos? Right! Right? I mean when you think of Thanos–

Stan: You think of W. He was so great in that movie.

Mackie: Brolin.

Stan: He’s a great actor.

Winter Soldier’s been through a lot of emotional trauma. Has he had some therapy since Civil War?

Stan: Absolutely. Yes. Definitely. Much more.

So he’s more peppy and perky?

Stan: I’ll tell you, in the ten pages that I was allowed to read, I didn’t see that.

Mackie: No perk.

Stan: For the other, I don’t know, 90 to 100 pages that are in this film, that I did not read, I have no idea.

How do your characters feel getting back together again, since we know you were best buds?

Stan: This was our first scene reuniting, and I thought it was warm–

Mackie: It was. A warm greeting. I realized he’s had a rough few years. He’s been frozen. I’m black so I haven’t aged. We’re just surprised to see each other again. On a new mission. Continue reading
